Been a while…

December 12, 2009

So it’s been a while since our last post.  For anyone following this page, well, i’m sure you’ve moved on.  But guess what??   We’re back!!  For how long you ask?  Your guess is as good as ours.

Well to get back in the swing of things, I’ll start out with the most recent video game experiences, which would have to be the new content in World of Warcraft.  Patch 3.3 dropped this past Tuesday.  Patch notes can be found here.  Three new dungeons and a new raid have dropped with this patch, with the new raid eventually leading to a fight to end the Lich King once and for all (atleast until the raid reset).  But we won’t even get to see the Lich King for quite some time, as Blizzard is to release new bosses in the raid periodically, with the next set of bosses to be released in a little less than one month.   Also, if you haven’t played in a while, and wish to be a part of the the fal of the Lich King, gearing up for the new content is easy as pie with the new patch.  So what are you waiting for???

Let’s see if I can keep up with posting entries on the site regularly again.  Or even convince the other posters on the site to do the same.  More to come in the next couple days.

A New Megaman?!

March 20, 2009

Want to play some Megaman but don’t know which one to play again?  Well how about a NEW one to play?  This demo video, brought to you by wartwartx, aka Peter Sjostrand (a graphic designer/animator), introduces a brand new element to the game.  That’s right, 2.5D, a mix between 2D and 3D that provides an almost Paper Mario type of feel.  But here’s the spoiler:  this video demo probably is not going to come to your fingertips at any point in the future, unless Capcom snatches up the idea, which seems pretty unlikely. Enjoy the video though.

Not your average Sunday drive…

March 19, 2009

Just a couple weeks ago (March 5th) the Transition made its’ initial flight.  This amazing little vehicle, small enough to fit in a standard garage., has fold up wings, can cruise in the air at about 115 mph and has pretty decent gas mileage on solid ground at about 30mpg highway.  In order to legally drive one you need to take a Sport Pilot test, which you can complete in about 20 hours and about $3,000.  The price?  Total estimated costs for the flying car are around $194,000 with a $10,000 deposit.  I think I need to start playing the lottery.

The Watchmen Experience

March 9, 2009

Not surprisingly, The Watchmen took the weekend box office quite handily, taking in a total of $55.7 million.  The next closest contender was Madea Goes To Jail with just $8.8 million.  The showing that we went Friday night wasn’t packed to the brim, although one of the staff had mentioned there were only 20 tickets left when we arrived. Nokia Morph Concept Phone

March 8, 2009

Ahh, phone technology.  Will this be the next iPhone or Blackberry?  Absolutely not!  This Nokia concept phone goes just a bit farther than trying to remember where you parked. Morph is a phone that is made with nanotechnologies, allowing it to twist and bend into many shapes and sizes.  This will become possible by creating a material that is very similar to spider silk. It is also self cleaning, repelling dirt and water.  And yet another amazing quality is that the phone will be able to sense the environment around it’s user.  This will go as far as analyzing the air pollution to protecting you from eating a dirty piece of fruit.   Supposedly, the concept will become reality within 7 years.  Enjoy the little animated short for a preview.

Mirror’s Edge 2D

February 24, 2009

The Mirror’s Edge 2D Beta has come….and gone.  The official site where you can play the game has been down for quite a while now due to the popularity and eventual server giving way.    But do not fear, you can get your hands on the new levels and time trials in no time, or so i hope…

–Bearwarp

*Update:  So the server is back up and the game is once again playable for all of you parkour fans out there.  Faith goes to extremes to get challengly placed bags and evidence in the three levels.  The only enemy contact i encountered was a machine gunner in one of the buildings (which had to be entered through the top of the building through a broken skylight) but other than that it’s a smooth sailing game in a world all by your lonesome.  If you haven’t given this short, fast-paced game a try, it’s worth a peek and a quick play through.

PS3 Gone Mad

February 18, 2009

Properly titled ‘Homicide’, this custom Playstation 3 mod appears to have committed some unsightly crime.

This is one of many custom PS3 mods that have been created, including the PS3 laptop (which is fully functional and weighs in at a leg numbing 16 pounds).  More accessories and peripherals are still to come with this blood stained design.  Check out some more PS3 mods here.
